Pepe Castro, (Madrid, October 25, 1963) is a photographer born in Madrid, based in Toledo,well-known especially for his extensive work of black and white portraits to relevant people of Spanish culture and society. Also known as The Peace Photographer for his project The Nobel Pax Portraits, an audiovisual project with which he seeks to create a universal message of peace around the world. He is a member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and Historical Sciences of Toledo and the Royal Academy of Cordoba, Director of the digital magazine of photography DNG Photo Magazine and CEO of the marketing and new technologies company Unbuenplan Group. He began working professionally as a photographer in 2003, after leaving another business activity, to dedicate himself fully to photography. Since then, he has accumulated an extensive career and recognition. In 2016 he is named as one of the few ambassadors that the Swedish brand Hasselblad has in the world (he is the first Spanish photographer to achieve this merit) In 2017 also the Japanese company Olympus includes among its photographers "Visionaries" ambassadors in Spain for their photographic equipment. The personnel and marked style both in management of the session and in the postproduction of his black and white images have undoubtedly made him one of the reference photographers in Spain, showing in his close portraits work, without distractions and sometimes hard, that they enter and discover the personality of each of the portrayed who pose in front of their objective. In March 2017 he was the first Spanish photographer to give a lecture on his method of work at the prestigious B & H photography center in New York, breaking record of live audience, (9,500 people online during the event). His blog, with A multitude of portraits of faces known, above all, of Spanish society and culture, is characterized by the fact that each photograph is accompanied by a brief text where it describes in a concise and colloquial way the encounter with each of these characters and how it reaches the final result, making the visit more pleasant to both photographers and curious. Apart from working as a photographer, his talks, workshops and master class are claimed throughout the Spanish geography.
