(Zorritos, October 16, 1951) is a World Cup winner Peruvian poet laureate "Andres Bello" version poetry, in Venezuela in 2009, awarded by the Venezuelan Society of International Art. This poet has been declared living cultural heritage of the nation by the National Institute of Culture (INC) of Tumbes.1 studied journalism and law at the National University of Trujillo. Chalén Garrido is one of the current representatives of the Group North arising in Trujillo in the first half of the twentieth century.

The prominent poet, writer and Peruvian journalist Carlos Garrido Chalén was awarded the "Global Award for peace and justice", awarded by the ambassadors and advocates of world peace, for social and humanitarian work "for peace with justice education, culture and freedom on earth ".
The winner was honored with this award, established to recognize the great personalities who work with innovative and different proposals for peace on the planet, for his essay "If that is peace, give us back the war."

Carlos Garrido Chalén is universal ambassador of peace in Peru, a member of the Circle of universal ambassadors of peace and president of the Union of writers hispanomundial (UHE).
