Hedva Rabinson Bachrach, a distinguished poetess, translator and writer in contemporary Israel, born on the 27/04/1938 –in Bucarest Romania, immigrated to Israel after world war 2 – in 1944. Education- Finished her PHD-Doctorate degree at the Bar Ilan University in Comparative Literature, also studied for 6 years Theology of Religions and Anthropology. Special courses in Radio programs 1970, Editing course at the Tel Aviv University, 1978.Hedva has lived in several countries ,because of her husband's work in developing states on World Bank Projects in Transportation planning, therefore she worked in several capacities in her own country. For 6 years she has been a member of an international committee, surveying community projects in some European countries and Turkey, and for the last 3 years in some Asian countries.
She is a member of the Writers' organizations, Soeurs Optimistes, and serves as the CIR of the Israeli Academic women Association-a local NGO of the International Federation of University women, and also serves as the Cultural Attache with the outside world, in the Israeli Council of Women Organizations. .
In 2010 Hedva has received two international prizes; one by a committee of World Poetry Almanac in Mongolia, which is connected to writers from about 45 countries, and the other as one of the three best translators of Poetry for 2010, by the World Literary Translation center, Beijing, China. edva has received twShe has published several books of Poetry and Prose, among which "Rega"-Moment, Eked Publication 1982, "Landscapes and I" Eked Publication 1992 , for which she got the prize for Literature from the World Cultural Organization of Rumanian born Jewry, "Ethnic Creativity and Ethnic groups in Israel:"- The Israeli association of University Women 2001, "I and you – Landscapes of touching"- Iton 77 publications 2002 – Nowadays "Let me dance the rain"- Holy Land stories – Eked Publication 2009, "I wanted to dance the Rain" World Poetry Almanach publication, 2010.
